We want to ensure not only your safety and well-being, but also that of other visitors and the wildlife in and around our lakes. To do that, the following rules apply to the use of our lakes:
General Rules

Sign-in required: Please sign in at the shop. If closed, call 07984824537 – staff are always onsite. ID is required at sign in.

Guests: Non-fishing guests are charged at £10.

Refunds: No refunds once booked. Sessions may be moved with 10 days’ notice.

Fish Care: Fish care comes first.

Environment: Cranebrook is set in an area of natural beauty; please respect the facilities and leave the lake how you expect to find it.

BBQ: BBQs are allowed but must be off the ground.

Hooks: Micro barbed hooks only.

Control: Fishery Staff have the right to check Anglers’ equipment.

Rods: Rods must never be left unattended.
-
Dogs: No dogs are allowed.

Conduct: No alcohol or drug abuse.
-
Respect: All anglers must respect each other. Abuse of staff will not be tolerated.

Waste: Take all rubbish home or deposit it in the bins provided on site.

Phones: Keep phones low and quiet.

Alarms: Keep alarms low.
-
Radios & Speakers: Are not allowed.

No liability: Cranebrook Lakes accepts no liability for injury, loss, or damage to persons, possessions, or vehicles while using our facilities.

Damage: Any fish damaged or killed in the process of capture/handling will be charged at a fixed rate of £85 per lb.

Security: All vehicles entering the Property will be entering an area under vehicle registration plate recognition. Under the terms and conditions undertaken by fishing at Cranebrook, you agree to plate capture for the protection of the fishery.
Further rules apply to each of our two lakes:
Lilly lake

Equipment Provided: Cradles, landing nets & slings are provided.

Minimum net size: 42″.

Rod limit: 3 rods.
-
Line: Minimum 18lbs mono. Braid is also allowed.

Leaders required: Shock leaders, lead core, fixed leads.

Baiting methods: No nuts.
-
Banned Methods: No Zig fishing.

Bait boats: Not allowed.
-
Baiting Poles: Allowed.

Lake boat: An onsite boat is available with permission for tethered fish (life jackets must be worn). Approval must be gained from Staff for use of the boat.

Wading: No wading.
-
Verification: All carp over 25lb+ must be verified by the site owner (for growth tracking).

Environment: No cutting back foliage.

Fish Care
- Must have a carp care kit/spray.
- No standing with fish in the water.
- Retaining of fish is allowed.
- A maximum time of 3 minutes from unhooking to returning the fish is set during summer months.
Horseshoe lake

Supervision: Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Nets: Required.

Carp mat: Required.

Rod limit: 2 rods only.

Line: Minimum 10lb.

Sharing: No sharing nets/mats between pegs.

Environment: No cutting back foliage.

Fish Care

- Rest fish before release.
